Prof. Dr. Parijat Chandra is Professor of Ophthalmology at Dr. R. P. Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India.
His clinical and academic work in Ophthalmology focuses on pediatric vitreoretinal diseases, with particular interest in Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP). He is a pediatric retina and vitreoretinal specialist with particular expertise in the screening, diagnosis and treatment of Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP), including laser, anti-VEGF therapy and surgery.
As a pediatric ophthalmologist, he has been involved in ROP care and research at AIIMS for more than two decades and has contributed to national and international ROP initiatives, multicentre clinical trials and medical education.

Research
His research focuses on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) and other pediatric vitreoretinal diseases. His interests include ROP imaging, laser treatment, anti-VEGF therapy, disease reactivation, advanced ROP and vitreoretinal surgery. He has contributed as a co-investigator to multicentre international studies including RAINBOW, DEGAS, MONET, IMROP and SHIELD.
He has published 150+ peer-reviewed articles and contributed chapters to academic and medical textbooks. He has presented 200+ invited lectures.
